This program is designed to teach “first response” personnel the proper procedures which can be followed when responding to gas leaks, “dig-ins,” odor complaint calls or other possible gas related emergencies. This course covers the proper use of gas and carbon monoxide detecting instruments and suggests how to use this equipment effectively in determining if a problem exists. Hazard identifi-cation and procedures for handling gas related emergencies will also be covered. Each company in attendance will be given the AEGIS Lessons Learned video “You Don’t Know What You Know.”

  • Odor complaint investigation - receiving the call
  • Odor complaint investigation - responding to the call
  • Conducting the odor complaint investigation
  • “Table top” mock emergency drills (What if?)
  • Emergency response
2:00 p.m BREAK
2:15 p.m Pinpointing underground leaks
3:30 p.m Voluntary written exam
