Peter A. Chace -- Gas Pipeline Safety Supervisor

The PUCO is very pleased to announce that the Facility and Operations Field Division has selected Peter A. Chace ("Pete") as the new supervisor of our Gas Pipeline Safety Section. Pete currently resides in Hilliard, Ohio with his wife, Mary, and his two children, Adam (10) and Maria (8).

Pete was chosen on the basis of his excellent credentials which include multiple years of experience in management, environmental health, state government and engineering. His educational background is outstanding as well and includes a BS degree in Chemistry from the University of Michigan and an MS degree in Mathematics & Statics from Miami University. Pete has also completed some doctorial work at The Ohio State University.

Prior to coming to the PUCO, Pete worked in the private sector as a Project Manager for August Mack Environmental (Dublin, OH) on projects involving the assessment and remediation of contamination in the environment and as the Director or Research and Development for BJAAM Environmental (Canal Fulton, OH) where he concentrated on new environmental cleanup methodology. Pete also has eight years of prior work experience in the public sector with the state of Ohio when he served as the Bureau Chief of the Ohio Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulation (BUSTR) which is an important function of the State Fire Marshall's Office as part of the Ohio Department of Commerce (Reynoldsburg, OH).

Lastly, Pete served for four years in the U.S. Navy as an Engineering officer on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson stationed in San Francisco, CA. There he supervised 25 reactor plant technicians who monitored reactor plant chemistry, radiation exposure to the crew, retained inventory and control of radioactive material, and disposed of radioactive waste.
