SMED's new Facilities and Operations Field Division Chief is David Cleaver
I am very pleased to announce that SMED's new Facilities and Operations Field Division Chief is David Cleaver. David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. David spent four years with Kentucky Utilities Company as a distribution engineer where he was responsible for performing studies on load flow, voltage flicker and fault studies. He also specialized in underground equipment design and placement. David then joined Kentucky Power, where for twelve years he fulfilled the duties of government liaison officer, building maintenance oversight, fleet management, and power service contracts with large industrial customers. David then joined AEP where he was a Project Engineer who monitored and analyzed cost performance data, conducted economic analysis studies and in addition was a project manager over major power plant projects as well as large transmission, distribution and hydroelectric projects. David then joined the City of Columbus where he served for six years as an Operations Manager where he supervised the staff who review, approve, monitor and inspect various construction projects occurring throughout Columbus. David then spent five years with the Ohio Department of Commerce where he was a Master Plans Examiner responsible for reviewing building plans for new/altered commercial and industrial buildings for compliance with Ohio Building Code requirements. Lastly, David was with the OCC as a Senior Electrical Engineer where he was responsible for various energy issues including cost of service, power generation, energy efficiency, and service reliability. As you can see we are very fortunate to have David join the PUCO team and look forward to all the leadership and expertise he will be bringing with him. Look forward to seeing him mid-April!
