Committee Responsibilities
1. To discuss, study, review and make recommendations on all matters pertaining to the prevention of accidents in the gas industry
2. To respond to legislation changes or requirements which have the potential to affect the economic viability of member companies.
Committee Duties
1. Assist member companies in the formation of safety policies, procedures and practices within their companies.
2. Review and provide assistance to member companies in the development of safety and training programs to assure the minimization of accidents and hazards among member companies.
3. Assist member companies to assure compliance with regulations as required by state and federal agencies.
4. Monitor activities of outside agencies and organizations to keep abreast of safety requirements of state and federal laws, codes and techniques, and keep member companies informed of changes.
5. Recognize member companies employees who actively demonstrate a commitment to safety by recommending them to receive the Award of Merit for Safety
6. Execute other assignments and conduct special studies as requested by the Trustees.
7. Periodically review and update the responsibilities and duties of this committee
