A. Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, this committee is responsible for the affairs of the Association involving primarily governmental agencies, such as the PUCO, and some state legislative bodies. Keep apprised of the development of ratemaking matters, such as regulations, unbundling and gas transportation.
B. Duties
1.Maintain contact with various legislative bodies and govern- mental agencies, such as the PUCO, to keep informed of actions that might affect Association member companies. Assemble and disseminate data of interest to member companies.
2.Study proposed legislation to determine possible effects on member companies. After consultation with member companies and approval of the Board of Trustees, confer with legislators or other public officials to emphasize weaknesses or merits of certain bills that affect members.
3.Develop and stimulate a political awareness among member companies to keep them informed of ratemaking, administrative and legislative activities that have a direct effect on member companies.
4.Develop and maintain effective communication with appropriate Association personnel to coordinate efforts dealing with supply, legislative and administrative members that affect Association members.
5.Execute other assignments and conduct special studies as requested by the Trustees.
6.Periodically review and update the responsibilities and duties of this committee.
