Energy Systems Network (ESN), the Indiana’s leading alternative energy technology initiative, has elected Carl Chapman, chairman, president and CEO of Vectren Corporation to its board of directors, making Vectren the second utility represented on the non-profit’s board.

“Beyond being an Indiana-based company, Vectren’s representation on ESN’s board is a major advantage for our work in the alternative energy sector,” said ESN Board Chairman and Ivy Tech President Tom Snyder. “Carl is a veteran of this industry, and his experience and input will most certainly guide ESN and our partners in exploring innovations in alternative fuel technologies for energy and transportation, including the importance of natural gas as a clean, domestic source of energy.”

“Tomorrow’s energy industry will look very different from today as the demand for alternative energy continues to grow,” said Chapman. “I’m both honored and excited to join ESN, an organization driving alternative energy adoption and shaping tomorrow’s energy industry.”

Chapman is also active on a number of other boards, including the American Gas Association, Edison Electric Institute, and the Indiana Energy Association.
