COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, the state’s legal advocate for residential utility customers, wants you to know that Dominion Energy is now offering unusually low prices for natural-gas service as the result of a recent energy auction.
Dominion, which serves much of Northeast Ohio, is now offering a “standard choice offer” of $2.097 per thousand cubic feet of natural gas. Given that the average Ohio ratepayer uses 18 mcf of gas in February, that would mean – including taxes – a gas supply bill of a little more than $40, according to J.P. Blackwood, spokesman for Ohio Consumers’ Counsel Bruce Weston.
